Bio/Interest

Michele Stein joined the LEND center core faculty representing Occupational Therapy in August of 2015. She has worked as an Occupational Therapist at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh for the last 17 years. For the last 10 years, she has held the position of Lead Occupational Therapist at The Children’s Institute Day School.  Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Ms. Stein worked as a Speech/Language therapist for 9 years, primarily in the school setting.  She has worked with children ages birth to 21 years of age with a variety of diagnoses including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, TBI, a variety of syndromes, and medically fragile children. Ms. Stein’s area of clinical interest and expertise is related to functional feeding disorders.

Ms. Stein is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association (POTA). She is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Duquesne University. She has presented on the topics of Functional Feeding Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, and is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST).
