2017-2018 LEND Trainee, Spencer Bowersox, to Take the Plunge on February 24, 2018

Although this marks his fifth time taking the plunge, LEND Trainee Spencer Bowersox could not be more excited to make his first splash in Pittsburgh. This event is being held on February 24, 2018, at the Ohio River outside of Heinz Field. You can cheer him on as he dives into freezing water, or support him by donating online.

The Pittsburgh Polar Plunge is being held to support the mission of the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, “A global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sport, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.”

Spencer is currently a first year LEND trainee pursuing his master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh. Please consider supporting him as he takes the plunge for the Special Olympics.
